83% of America!!!!
If you walk into a Starbucks, a Wal-Mart or attend a Ranger, Stars, Mavericks or Cowboy game, 8.3 of every 10 people you meet do not attend church. There are a number of different reasons this many people have left church or never attended. Sometimes it’s because we make faith way too complex. But faith does not need to be complex and neither does church. I’ve titled the picture below “Faith is Simple.” It really is….
Jesus said the following about children and the faith they posses, “Leave the children alone. Do not stop them from coming to Me; for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these … I tell you the truth, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.”
Life is complex…faith and church should not be. Zach’s House is a network of microchurches or simple churches as some might call them. Come join us anytime, either in person or online. Study the Bible with us or hang out at one of our gatherings and you’ll see what we mean. You don’t have to remember creeds and you don’t have to be perfect. In fact, if you think you are perfect, you might feel out of place in one of our small groups.
- Faith Should Be Simple
Our Simple Churches and Small Groups
We take Christ to people. We have many small gatherings of people, each with its own God-designed purpose. These are called “meet ups,” “Bible studies,” “tweet-ups,” “small groups,” “service opportunities,” “better man groups,” “better woman groups,” “God talks,” “Pizza and Prayer nights,” “church” and just “hanging out at Starbucks.”
Our Future
When we have enough small groups of people, we desire to meet collectively once a month in donated space from a local congregation.
Until that time when we can join together in a monthly corporate gathering (what most people call “normal church,” we will continue to hang out with people who do not attend organized worship gatherings. We will love, listen and befriend those we come in contact with and begin new groups with these friends, each with a God-designed purpose. We will continue to teach, be a light and serve others in the community with those we meet. We will do it through canned good drives, feeding the homeless, and helping widows and orphans as is outlined in the Bible.
